Window Shades: Troubleshooting

For window shades that won't roll up, check to make sure the ends of the roller are not rubbing against the brackets. Also make sure the brackets themselves are straight and were not bent or damaged in transit. You may have to increase the tension of your roller shade. This can be done by removing the shade from its brackets and rolling it by hand for two revolutions. Replace the shade in the brackets and test, repeating if necessary. For fabric window shades that become wrinkled, leave the shade drawn (or in the down position) for 3-5 days in direct sun to help draw the wrinkles out.
